Module 2 – Warning Signals of Inclusivity Problems in the Classroom and at School

This micro-course will contain information about warning signals that may indicate issues with inclusivity in the classroom and at school. Inclusivity in education refers to an approach that ensures all learners, regardless of their backgrounds, abilities, or learning needs, have equal opportunities for academic and social development. This concept is rooted in the belief that every learner is unique and brings valuable perspectives to the learning environment.  Unfortunately, not all learners are accepted and treated the same. This can lead to a range of unfavourable behaviours in the VET classroom and at school. These behaviours may affect not only the excluded learner, but also negatively affect the atmosphere in the classroom and school. It is therefore important to quickly identify unfavourable behaviour and counteract it.

Expected Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • understand the Consequences of low inclusivity in VET schools
  • identify common warning signs of inclusivity problems, such as bullying, discrimination, social isolation, and academic disengagement.
