Module 10 – Sensitivity and Mental Health Preparedness
A person, in order to function well, needs homeostasis in terms of mental, physical and spiritual spheres. Mental health refers to a person’s emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It influences how individuals think, feel, and behave in daily life, and it impacts how they handle stress, communicate with others, and make decisions. Mental health encompasses a spectrum, ranging from mental wellness to mental illness, and includes conditions like anxiety, depression, and stress. According to the definition, mental health disorder may cause a number of negative consequences and hinder the VET learner’s daily functioning. That is why it is so important to ensure an appropriate level of mental health. It is also important to respond quickly if any problems arise in this area. In this module you will learn what can cause mental problems. How to recognise them and what you can do when your learner experiences such problems.
